My Passion
Floyd Meyer is the face behind Hypermobile Solutions. Floyd finds joy in educating his patients: he lives for that moment when they learn the thing that will give them the power to change their lives. He is drawn to solutions, and during PA school learned how things like surgeries and procedures can often offer quick outcomes. However, working in surgery did not allow him to integrate his knowledge of healthy lifestyle practices.
He struggled to find a practice where he could merge his knowledge of healthy lifestyles with his desire to do procedures, that is, until he found Integrative Rehab Medicine. This multidisciplinary healthcare practice gave him the opportunity to flourish.
It was there he first started treating those with hypermobility and learned about how poorly they were being managed in the traditional medical system. While counseling these patients he found that hypermobile people were often misdiagnosed, mismanaged, and misunderstood: it drove him crazy. He sought out books, chapters in medical texts, and any information he could find and learned that treating these patients was not only possible, but that he loved it.
Floyd witnessed firsthand what an impact simple injections like prolotherapy or PRP could have for hypermobile patients, especially when combined with things like physical therapy, taping, nutrition, and appropriate medications.
He continues to see patients at Integrative Rehab Medicine, but created Hypermobile Solutions after realizing that there were so many others out there, eager for knowledge about their conditions. People who were willing and able to implement simple changes that could dramatically increase their quality of life.
Floyd spends his free time going to concerts, practicing archery, exercising and teaching his dog to talk using buttons. He has a bachelors in biochemistry and molecular biology, master’s degrees in medical science and public health, and is a licensed PA in Florida.
